Building Bridges Between Farmers and Cafés

El Carmen – Beyond Coffee

Nestled on the slopes of El Salvador’s Chinchontepec volcano, Finca El Carmen has been producing exceptional Bourbon and Pacamara coffees since 1955. For Finca El Carmen, coffee is more than a crop—it’s a way to care for people and the planet. Every cup of El Carmen coffee carries the story of a place where nature, community, and craftsmanship come together.

Starting in October of 2025, RoasTronix and El Carmen will be partnering together to bring a taste of El Salvador to the U.S. market. This partnership is part of the RoasTronix Green Coffee Project, an initiative launched in 2024 to strengthen transparency in sourcing and create direct connections between producers and coffee professionals. By highlighting farms like El Carmen, the project gives cafés and roasteries the chance to share not just great coffee, but also the story of where it comes from.

About El Carmen

The Rainforest Alliance certified Finca El Carmen is nestled within a preserved natural forest, providing vital habitat for native and migratory species. Finca El Carmen leverages the surrounding terroir to support sustainable practices such as integrated pest management, cassava barriers for erosion control, and ongoing reforestation efforts.

Their shade-grown coffee thrives between 900 and 1,700 meters above sea level, are hand-picked at peak ripeness, and processed in their mill. This process uses 10% of the traditional water methods. By retaining autonomy in the harvest process, El Carmen ensures traceability, quality, and a signature flavor that reflects its volcanic origin.

Beyond sustainability, El Carmen invests in the community supporting education, healthcare, and recreational spaces for over 200 families year-round, and up to 600 during harvest. El Carmen also provides technical training programs to further equip El Carmen workers for the future.

RoasTronix Green Coffee Project

Participants in the RoasTronix Green Coffee Project are carefully selected through a detailed evaluation process. Each coffee sample is roasted on the Stronghold S7X, then repeatedly cupped and brewed to assess quality and flavor before moving forward with the partnership. Once selected, direct connections are established with the producing farm to learn more about its practices, processes, and the people behind the coffee.

Building on the success and positive feedback from the 2024 Green Coffee Project partnership with Arlin Andino of Finca Esquipulas, Nicaragua, RoasTronix is excited to expand its offerings by bringing a wide variety of El Salvadorian green coffees to RoasTronix HQ.

RoasTronix is proud to bring these coffees to the U.S., sharing a story of quality, dedication, and hard work. Each partnership is a step toward bridging the gap between farmers and cafés, creating meaningful connections through every cup.

El Carmen’s Yellow Honey will be available for purchase starting in October of 2025.
